Statement by Prime Minister Carney to mark 9/11 and the National Day of Service
“Twenty-five years ago, on a clear September morning, an ordinary day became one of history’s darkest.
Nearly 3,000 people – among them 24 Canadians – were killed in the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. Thousands were wounded. Countless more have carried the pain of that day with them ever since.
Twenty-five years on, our grief has not faded – and neither has our resolve to stand against hatred and terrorism. Today, we remember every life that was taken and those whose lives were changed forever.
