After city councillors were divided about whether it was Calgary’s place to wade into a debate on Alberta separation, a motion by Mayor Jeromy Farkas mayor affirming Calgary’s place as a “as a vital part of Alberta and Canada” passed 14-1. Mike Jamieson was the only councillor to vote in opposition.
