Germany and Canada are deepening defence ties, looking beyond Washington. But decades of military integration with the US make going it alone far from simple.
Germany and Canada traded C$49 billion (us$34.3b) in goods in 2025, making Germany Canada’s 6th-largest trading partner and biggest in the EU.
