The demand for motor vehicle fuels in Canada continued to grow in 2025, with gross sales of gasoline edging up 2.3% year over year to 44.8 billion litres, a six-year high.

The increase in gasoline demand coincides with more vehicles on Canadian roads. There were 24.2 million gasoline-powered road motor vehicles registered in Canada in 2025, up by 1.8% (+419,645 vehicles) from the previous year.
